Our Team

Who is Reverend Sue Bluett?

I have been in ministry most of my working years. My passion is helping people discern their spiritual gifts and abilities and providing training for them to use these to the best of their abilities. I felt God calling me to the Longbeach Anglican Church in 2017 and have enjoyed its emphasis on outreach to the local community and on the importance of opening God’s word and prayer.

I started out as a teacher, worked for Scripture Union, was a Chaplain at Carey Baptist Grammar, lectured at Ridley Theological College (visiting lecturer), and has worked in a variety of roles within Anglican Churches around Melbourne.

Who is Reverend Julia Boyd?

I grew up in a non-Christian family, but was always curious about Jesus. In my teens I was invited to church by a schoolfriend and came to faith soon afterwards. I’m passionate about people having the opportunity to learn about Jesus for themselves.

Prior to becoming a priest, I worked as registered nurse for 30 years or so, practicing in Australia, and the US. I’ve also lived in the UK. I’m married to Craig, have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. Our pug Bronte completes the family.

I love to sing, play the piano, swim, read, and catch up with friends. Cooking for a crowd fills me with joy.

I feel called to walk alongside people, listen to their stories, help them to grow in their understanding of God’s word, and his deep love for them. I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Longbeach!

Who is Reverend Ron Peterson?

Who is Jaqueline Hendrey?

I had a carefree childhood living on the edge of the town in Traralgon.  I attended Traralgon High School and then studied science at Monash University. I currently live in Chelsea with my family and a menagerie of pets.

At the Longbeach Church I organise the office, answer the phone and help to prepare services, I coordinate Matt’s Place Community Meals Program, and the Puppet Ministry and have a lot of fun preparing the Christmas Pageant with the children. I have no official qualifications for any of these roles except a love of Jesus and a heart for His gospel.

In my spare time I love to garden where most of my flowers are pink (even though my favourite colour is blue!) and after the struggle and change of the last few years, I find a quiet joy in the frog who has decided to take up residence beside my front door.
